

The Bentonville Cemetery began in 1842 when 1 1/2 acres surrounding the Christian church was purchased. A number of families moved their dead from the farms to this new cemetery. It became necessary to enlarge the cemetery from time to time and the present cemetery is 9.2 acres in size.
