About 1744 two farms from the island of Jurmo was moved to the island of Utö in Korpo, Finland. The state wanted to have regulary sea-pilots there to safeguard marine trafic. One of the sea-pilot farmers was Henrik Johansson. His two sonsons Abraham Henriksson and Isak Henriksson started to use the surname Öhman. The name was mentioned first time at 1812, when Abraham Henriksson married. There are other Öhman families in Finland, too.
