About the Alderman surname

German in origin with Jacob Alderman, husband of Roseanna, being the immigrant. He and Roseanna were inhabitants of Bethabara, a Moravian Community near Winston Salem in 1799. In in the 1800's they relocated to SW Virginia where they lived in Grayson County. Their first born, Jacob is buried in the "Strangers" cemetery at Bethabara.

They later had another son name Jacob after moving to SW Virginia. Jacob the immigrant is buried near the Buffalo Mountain at Dugspur, VA
