About the Angell surname

I am a direct descendant of Thomas "The Immigrant" through solely the male line of Angells. I'm not sure how the designation of "umpteenth" great-grandfather is established, but I am ten generations descended from Thomas. My younger brother has a copy of Avery Angell's geneology book, to confirm my statement.
