About the Berryhill surname

My birth name was Susan Marie Steele. My dad was Reuben Ronald Steele. His dad was Jesse Steele. His mom was Ava Lena Hunt (she went by her middle name Eva). Eva's mother's name was Pape Berryhill. Pape Berryhill was born on November 4, 1883 in Winchester, Tennessee. She married John Wesley Hunt. Pape Berryhill died on February 26, 1941 in Winchester, Tennessee. It's interesting that there are 2 Reuben Steele's and also the Steele family marries in with the Berryhill family at least 2 times over several generations. I looked on the 1920 Federal Census and her name there is Pate Berryhill, not Pape. I see that they copy the information incorrectly many times. But, on her gravestone it does say Pape.
