Bertram Blackbeard (when Emily remarried, Bertram took on the name Bertram Plane-Blackbeard) (Son of Robert Halston born Grahamstown November 1950, died Bloemfontein 15-2-1896 age 46 and Emily Leticia (nee Bertram) who divorced and Emily remarried a Mr. Plane having 3 children Robert Plane - killed WW1, Ruth and Olive Plane). Bertram Blackbeard (Registered as such) born 21-5-1888 died in Bloemfontein (Wepener) 10-8-1968, buried in OFS. He Married Petronella Johanna De Villiers (nee Wentzel) Blackbeard, born 15-3-1891, died 17-5-1962 They separated (not divorced) with Bertram living in the OFS and Petronella in the Cape. Children from this marriage 1. Stillborn baby girl born dead 1918 2. Dorothy Hope Blackbeard born 14-6-1921, died 4-12-1922 of Meningitis, 3. Lorraine Faith (Wife of Frank William George Foot born 18-11-1926, died 28-2-1988) Blackbeard born 29-10-1923 Observatory and died 7-8-2006. Then why Bertram and Petronella split up was because another son was born with Bertram (father) and Issabel Rehr (Mother). Don't have any info on Issabel as that side of the family bit sketchy. The son born (Lorraine's half brother, was) Bertram Robert Blackbeard born 20-10-1925 who married Pat (nee Saltmer) born 29-9-1919. They had an son Robert David Elwin born 25-1-1955 who married a Janine with 3 kids Ashleigh and Tracy. When Pat died, Bertram Robert remarried Ivy on 27-5-2000 and that's where my Blackbeard info ends.
