Broadley Genealogy and Broadley Family History Information

George Redmonds in his book on West Riding surnames, tells us that John Brodelegh, Constable of Ovenden in 1362, when he built Broadley Hall, was the first to bear this name. The Broadleys thrived in the Halifax area and moved further afield, some to America where Daniel Broadley was killed by Indians in Haverhill, Mass. in 1589.
