About the Burchett surname

I am looking into my family history but can't get that far. Most of my family is gone now. My grandfather was Robert D. Burchett (born 1935) son of John D. Burchett.(born 1884, died 2/17/1973) But I don't think his mother was laura (lora) keaton (keeton) who were married aug. 27, 1911 in kentucky. My grandpa's mother was full blooded cherokee.
