About the Chubbuck surname

As far as I can tell the Chubbuck name originally was Schebback ( Gregori Schebbach in Germany in circa 1559) his son Thomas shows up in Gresham England ,birth circa 1585 as Thomas Chubbuck his death shows Thomas Chubbuck was in Hingham Mass in 1676,so some time between 1585 and 1676 they arrived in Hingham( Plymouth Colony) Mass, making him about 92,I have since found out that Thomas settled in Hingham in 1634,His wife was Martha Chubbuck. He had extensive holdings and land grants, plus other property he had bought. His son Thomas Chubbuck was born in oct 10 1607 and died Dec 9 1676, he was married to Alice Chubbuck. .His son John Chubbuck was born in 1648 Hingham (Plymouth Colony) he died in 1690 at the age on about 41,he was a lt who was in the ill-fated Canada expedition under Sir William Phips, he died of small pox.His wife Mary remarried to a Stoddard. His son Thomas was born June 19th 1674 in Hingham Plymouth County, Mass, he died March 4 1763 about the age of 78,he was married to Mary Chubbuck. Died where he was born. Jeremiah Chubbuck the son of Thomas and Mary Chubbuck was born March 31st 1703 probably Hingham, Suffolk County, Mass, He graduated from Harvard college in 1775 and taught Grammar School 1752-3. Died sept 30th 1774 age about 71.He was married to Mary Chubbuck. , James Chubbuck Sr was born June 9th 1745 the son of Jeremiah and Mary Chubbuck born in Hingham, Plymouth mass, he died in circa 1801 age 51-59 in Charlottte,Washington Maine. He was the husband of Melia Chubbuck and Martha Chubbuck and chloe Chubbuck., He was a proud Revolutionary War soldier who served in the Army and the Navy before his honorable discharge. James Chubbuck,Jr the son of James Chubbuck, Sr and Melia Chubbuck was born Nov 15th,1767 in Hingham,Plymouth County, Mass. He died Died 11th, 1844 at the age of 77 in Charlotte,Washington county Maine, So the Chubbuck's moved to Charlotte Maine from Hingham Mass sometime between 1767 and 1844. His son Martin Chubbuck the son of James Chubbuck Jr and Sarah Stoddard was born in 1795 in Charlotte ME, he died in Jan 1860 in Meddybemps ME. His son James Chubbuck 111 son of Martin Chubbuck and Emeline Emily Chubbuck was born Jan 13th 1835 in Charlotte ME, he died Jan 24th 1923 in Carroll ME at the ripe old age of 88. His son Harvey Chubbuck the son of James Chubbuck the 111 and Emily was Born in May 1877 at Meddybemps ME, His date of death is unknown to me and the circumstances of his death also. still working on that. It appears he had about 14 to 16 siblings, still working on that also. Harvey's wife was Blanch, maiden name Briggs. They had at least 7 children I know of, Blanch passed away Oct 1910,not positive of this date, but it is close. They had seven or eight children I know of,Halsie&Harvey&Jessie &Kenneth&Elton&Rita&Gertrude . My next step is to research all of Harvey and Blanch's children and work back from there. None of this is 100% for sure to be accurate, but I have been careful not to put people in just because on wishful thinking. I am sure there were other Chubbuck's in the Revolutionary and Civil and the war of 1812,plus Indian wars. Glad to here from you. Dan
