About the Dickenson surname

For one thing my Dickinson families did not have an e in it. That was for my John Dickinson's brother when during the Rev. War Nathaniel was a Patriot and so he put in the E to distinguish himself from not being a Loyalist!! So all my Dickinson had the I and they were Loyalists. Especially after the rebels were given free reign in torturing those who were not patriots or loyalists and that is one reason why so many people became Loyalists So please when doing any of my families in Canada and Maine with some in New England please put in the I .
