About the Herceg surname

Podrjetlo

....

In my opinion many Herceg families may have come from Skheria (Seg-Her-iwa) in Hellás, an island in neighbourhood of Oinóné (Owinónayawa),later called Korkyra and Aigina - from korku and ginao tribes? - ,and inhabitors of Hercegovina may have also come in antiquity from there :

Her-Seg-Owina.
