Kurd nation is stated to descend from followers of smith Kawa mainly of méd and persian/urdú origin wherefore their name could mean Kawa-Urd that is Kawa's tent. He according to folk myth fighting against Azhdahak seems to be identical with Kyros ( Kawa-Ayar ) king of Persia who revolted against his maternal grandfather Astyagés and defeating him ruled over Média and Persia from about 585 until 555 b.c.. His people might have founded village Kurdi in Hungary as well at the occasion of méd invasion under Xerxés against Hellás.
