The Strömberg surename in Sweden are dated back to the 17´s centuary. there are several families called Strömberg from different regions of sweden. From Uppland is the Stockholm family Strömberg originated from the boatman and ironsmith at Leufsta (Lövsta) bruk Olof Andersson From and his wife Barbro Bengtsdotter, their son Anders Olofsson Strömberg took the surename and his immidiate descendents became all of them well known bourgoise citizens in Stockholm during the first decades of the 18´s centuary, trading and owing tobacco factories in the capital, later on marrying into the aristocracy (the Kilngspor the von Düben and the Rothlieb families amongst others). Military careers, naval and maritim careers, musical and theatrical careers were of great importance in this family.
