In Estonia/Livonia Surname Tulp was given in 18 different manors: http://www.eha.ee/labs/onomastika/index.php/et/nimepanek/searchNime... In Livonia 1826 in 6 different manors and in Estonia 1835 in 12 different manors. Word "tulp" has in Estonian different meanings 1) bar, column, bollard, post, stake, picket 2) the flower Tulip (Tulipa ssp.) The flower is probably not related at all with Surnames as during these times only German name Die Tulpe (Tulpen) was in use - gives different Surname (given in 2 manors). Estonian Surname Tulp has probably no relationship to Dutch or Norvegian Surnames Tulp.
