Voyles Genealogy and Voyles Family History Information

An Anglicization of the Welsh VOEL (a derivation and probably the pronunciation of FOEL, meaning bald head or bald hill). First known Voyles in the United States was (as far as we have found out) Thomas Voyles, though he was possibly accompanied by one or two brothers (depends on the particular history you are reading).

A second explanation comes from Wales, also, that the name was VOI or VOIL.
