The long held and researched information of my famiy has the following information.
Hiram was the son of Thresher Gibson (sp?) Hiram and Rachel Long had James just as you wrote.
James Gibson was married to Priscia first based on the birthdates of their children, and their children were-
Linne E. Gibson, b 1857; died after 1884 in Dow Ok.
Another child was Rachel Gibson, b. March 26, 1860; died March 10, 1911 Dow, OK.
Another child was Hiram T. Gibson, b. March1864 . All were born in Long Island, ALA. Hiram married Mary Louisa Birdsong June 24, 1881, Fort Smith Ark.
The 1860 Rachel Gibson was my great grandmother. She married a white man named Henry Harrison Caldwell and it is told that her father denounced her for marrying a white man.
Rachel and Henry had 8 children> Virgil, Mary Etta, Lydia Bell, Annie May, Rachel Lena, James Henry, Oscar, Dollie and William Lewis. Rachel Lena was my grandmother.
