Peter (De) Valois

Peter jumped ship in Akaroa about 1951,Possibly from an american whaler. He later married Mary Anne Hammond, a local girl, of German bay. I'd like to try to trace his origins. Silvester V is his grandson, and my FIL (Deceased).

I found this clipping referencing a deceased Peter Valois of Akaroa dated 21 May 1891

I've seen reference to a Mary Elizabeth Valvois marrying a Henry Clifford Tattershall.

I see you already have the tattershall reference agains't mary's husbands name. but note the spelling of valois as valvois,

I've also seen other reference to information held at Akaroa museum referencing the name Valvois, maybe drop them a message and see if they might be able to shed any light to help in your quest for more information.
