Jane Spingler is thought to be Henry's first wife. But then there is this:
1768 18 May; Henry Springler; Jane Reed < a marriage in the DRC of NYC
Jane Sloo and Jane Reed be the same person? If so, Jane would have had to have been married to s Reed before... AN argument against this is that the DRC usually indicated whether a bride and/or groom had been married before.

I am beginning to think that Henry married Jane Reed 1st, then Jane Sloo, then Mary Bonsall.

Supporting this contention are a flurry of DRC Reed marriage licenses, all about the same time in NYC:
1761 06 Jun; Richard Reed; Maria Post[6] ..............................Richard
1761 23 Sep; James Reed; Elisabeth Brown[19] ....................James
1761 10 Dec; Thomas Hincksman; Patience Reed[19] ...........Patience
1764 24 Oct; Charles Campbell; Elenor Reed[19]....................Eleanor
1766 26 Jul; Hendrick Post; Phebe Reed[19]...........................Phebe
1767 26 May; Timothy Humphrevil; Elizabeth Reed[19]...........Elizabeth
1768 18 May; Henry Springler; Jane Reed[19] ........................Jane , to HENRY SP(R)INGLER... his name ofter misspelled
1768 31 Dec; Peter Laforge; Elizabeth Reed[19] .....................Elizabeth

<Reed> is, however, a common surname

Hendrick Post might be a connection for Phebe Reed. And Jane might be Phebe's sister or cousin... ??

Indeed: Phebe did marry Hendrick and Jane Spingler (Reed) is Phebe's sister: see: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/64150781/person/32...

<closing out this discussion> I add Jane Springler

There was, however a <Springer> family in Putnam Valley, unrelated to the Spinglers of New York City: See:
"The families of Haight, Bloomer and Wilson came shortly after, and those who were here before the Revolution became landlords after the war by purchasing their farms from the commissioners of forfeiture. Among the larger landholders was Daniel Ter Boss, who purchased about 1,500 acres in the northern part of the lot. Benjamin Bloomer had 340 acres in the western part, Isaac Springer had a smaller tract, with a saw mill, which he gave to his son Isaac about 1790."

Might Isaac Springer have had a relative named Henry Springer who is the actual husband of Jane née Reed?

Another Henry Springer was in Oyster Bay during this era.

It is hard to uncover the pedigree of this man too...
