My wife's mother was adopted and the adopting grandparents passed along very little information to her. What we know is that my wife's mother was born in Regina Saskatchewan on July 26, 1927 as Velma Ruth Reid. She was adopted by Roland and Margaret Widdicombe (nee Tennant) of Kinistino, Saskatchewan. Margaret herself was adopted and was Metis from the Prince Albert area. Roland's family was from St. Catharine's Ontario. My wife has her DNA analysis on both 23 and me and Ancestry. We have found several relatives on there but the closest relatives aren't helpful as they are also searching for family connections, related via her father, or the trail is lost via adoptions on their side as well. A fourth cousin has provided the only possible lead as he is also related to someone in the Widdicombe clan, but we don't know if that is a blood or marriage relationship to the family. Looking for some help in tracking my wife's birth grandparents.
