i am shocked I am doing my family bloodline and George Ivey born 1638 Elizabeth River Parish, Lower Norfolk Virginia,British Colonial America death 1-17-1689 Norfolk Va is 11th great grand father. William Fredrick Ivy is my 3rd great grandfather but I'm not sure if that's where the free blacks came in or not

Jamenah, I got your private message and just responded. This George is direct ancestor also but I haven't found any FPOC in my branch. I do know there is a branch of the Ivey line that married into a descendant of the Driggers family that has Native American and mulatto, but I don't research those lines since they're not direct for me. If you and I are from the same branch and you do find anything I'm unaware of, do let me know.
