(Reminder: This is a public discussion thread.)

Stemming from recent discussion in multiple places, there are two proposals for re-organizing our swaps to make them more efficient.

----

PROPOSAL #1: Have three separate projects, for 1) deceased people born in the 17th/18th C., 2) deceased people born in the 19th/20th C., and 3) living people.

Pros: Allows curators to look for MPs in the time periods they work in, prevents individual project lists from becoming overwhelming in length, basically conforms with the projects we already have

Cons: Need to follow three projects, need to check dates before adding to projects

----

PROPOSAL #2: Have two projects -- one for deceased Americans, one for living

Pros: Easy delineation, only two projects to follow, easy for curators who cover all time periods

Cons: Longer lists to sift through, less convenient for people who prefer to work in only one of those time periods

----

Do we have a preference? Or any other proposals?

I'm personally slightly inclined towards #1, but I'm fine with whatever folks want either way. And I'll volunteer to do any profile-moving work that might need to be done, if necessary.

Is Proposal 1 just for Americans?

It's all just for the U.S., Private User.

Thanks Ashley

I think the discussion is a great idea, I hope the other curators who work in the area come onboard.
