I'm wondering if anyone can clear this up for me.

I am at a crossroad with Jane Fradd born 1799 St Mawgan Cornwall. I have information from the Fradd blog link below that her parents were Thomas Williams (a carpenter) and Mary Brabyn.

I have also seen here on Geni one post saying Jane Fradd was born Williams Shear and also a Jane Williams Shear both with birth date of 1799.

I've also found a 1861 census from Cornwall that has Jane and her husband John Fradd on it, but it also has another gent named Thomas Williams who is recorded as being a lodger, but the age for him is incorrect if he was her father.

How exciting it is researching our ancestry!! I've obviously missed something just not sure what...?? Any clarification with this and I would be very grateful.

Kind regards

I'm sorry you've had to wait over 2 years for a response, Karen.

You are correct - Jane Fradd is connected to the wrong family. Her parents were Thomas Williams and Mary, née Braben. ["England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JMQ8-N3X : 11 February 2018, Jane Williams, 22 Jul 1799); citing , index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 254,144. Accessed 11 Feb 2020.]

Share was the name of her first husband.

Her mother Mary, and her first cousin Richard Braybn are in her home in the 1841 census.

Her brother Thomas was in her home in the 1861 census.

Jane was also a beneficiary in her father's will and her husband John Fradd's carpentry workshop was located in a property owned by her father.
