I have traced my Baruch ancestors back to Bernhard Baruch and his wife Liepke, both born in 1730. The Baruchs stayed in Schwerzens until the middle of the 1800's. I have been unable to find any information on this family from before then. I would appreciate any help and guidance. Thank you! Debbie

I wonder what progress you have made in this search for early Baruch's.

From what I have read very few Jews had actual family names in 1730.

Chicago area.

I attached a hand-written Baruch family tree to Simon Baruch's profile. I can't read, therefore document the first names of some of the older Baruchs on the tree. I I have 2 researchers that I use in Poland. There seems to be no records left of Jewish families, or cemeteries in Swarzdez.
I am also not able to nail down Bernard Baruch's wife's family. Therese Grun.
This is so much fun, but frustrating at times.
Thank you for 'including' me. I am looking forward to the research.

I looked at the hand-written Baruch tree. Here are some suggestions:
1. Long shot...use Google Lens Artificial Intelligence system.
2. Ask for help on any of a number of Facebook Genealogy sites, Jewish, German, etc.
3. Try JewishGen ViewMate Research tool, post it and ask for a translation. The Best!
4. Ask your Geni Followers to take a look. Increase your number of Following considerably firstly. Follow anyone who you have run into, every name of everyone will prove to be helpful at some point. Case in point=Me.

5. Therese Grun, well there were few Grün in Kempen and Birnbaum and there were more Grünbaum in Swarzdez. Just Search People up top here on those names and see who turns up.

Dan

Thank you so much for the suggestions!
