Thanks for the introduction to your work. I am not sure whether my surname is connected to Gershon or not. The way the name is spelled in old documents is khes-resh-samekh-vov-langer nun. Usually, Gershon is with a gimel as the first letter. My great grandfather was a Cohen. This is a reason to do some genetic analysis because otherwise everything is speculation.

Thanks for the materials. The Gershon family is a large and diverse one and when there is so much information It is important to remain focused. I am particularly interested in the Gershon HaLevi group because I am doing some intensive work on the Levi genetic genealogy. What I need from 23andMe is called the ydna haplogroup. You sent me some screenshots from 23 and these are about the admixture and ethnic origins. The haplogroup is on a different screen. Can you please find this for me? Thanks very much.
