Private User I am confused by what you mean with "just follow the direct descendants." You say it's correct, so I presume that you must have some source which you base that on. What is the source you are using?
Private User wikitree is only as good as it's sources, and that profile only links to a rabbit hole of online family trees. That's not a proper source. I will ask again, does anyone have primary source based evidence that this person existed and he had a middle name?
Private User "I adjusted the profile. Should be correct now. Have a good day!"
This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. You cannot just try to delete all these profiles and vandalize the remainder that you cannot delete. This is a shared tree and this sort of petulant vandalism will not be tolerated.
Let us pool our sources and create a quality tree. I don't understand why this is so difficult to do. For example, Roz Lacey, since you claim to have been researching this family for the past 60 years, would you be able to contribute some of your knowledge and sources to improve this tree?
later on historical work covering 17th to early 19 centuries stateside. i don't know how much it has any reference to the earlier period back in England, looks interesting anyway.

there is just a brief note in the preface, with mention of William Way, yeoman of the guard for Henry VIII. also that this William was a Somerset man, grandson of an Alexander from Somerset.
George in the book title is supposed brother of Henry "the puritan", and together they were both early immigrants to the states, George as one of the Massachussets bay colony founders.
the author mentions he has traced the surname back to the 10th century but gives no details, only suggesting that the Devon, Somerset and Dorset families by the name of Way (more usually spelled Waye in those earlier days) are all branches of the same family,
the Devon branch, i can inform is "de la Waye" who became Davie.
