‎Subject: Bergaust ownership and the like‎

‎ Under "Introduction to Genius - Norwegian", I find many good guidelines for how profiles for Norwegian ancestry should be carried out. However, I have no idea what to do with descriptions of residence for housemen. In such cases, the church books rarely state the actual name of the square, just an indication of which larger farm it belonged to, owning or owning or ejer or similar added afterward, in their own words, or continuously, possibly with a hyphen. In my own family tree, I have entered this as stated above, i.e. "Bergaust-own". Since the Norwegian Geni recommendations state that place of residence/farm names should be listed in the surname field when it comes to people in the village in the past, "Bergaust-owning" and the like have ended up in my surname field. However, I see that many people drop this add-on, and thus only list "Bergaust" in the last name field. It is perhaps understandable that one does not want to remember the brutal class society of the past every time one looks in his tree, but the information is lost when it is ironed out. For example, it becomes more difficult to find your way around when you want to verify the information in the tree. Here the preferences will probably sprout up, but if you are going to make a common tree, you have to agree on something and follow this. Has such a thing already been worked out?‎
