There are no records that have been found that support Martin's parents to be Paul Benoit dit Livernois and Élisabeth (Isabelle) Gobinet and there are several factors that do not chronologically line up.
- Martin was supposedly born in France prior to 1643
- Paul immigrated to New France in September 22, 1653 as part of the Le Grande Recrue de 1653 - he was single
- Elisabeth was a Filles à Marier arriving in New France by 1658 - she would have been single per stipulations set for the Filles à Marier
- Élisabeth and Paul were married 16 Sep 1658 in Montréal
It is my thought that Paul Benoit dit Livernois and Élisabeth (Isabelle) Gobinet be disconnected as parents of Martin.
