I suspect that Sarah is not the daughter of Samuel Brandon but was adopted by him. Her birthdate was about 5 years before Samuel and Roena were married.The 1870 census has her at 6 years old meaning she was born in 1864. The 1880 census has her birthdate as 1865. This needs to be looked at in more detail. Perhaps she was a niece? Or was she born to Samuel and Roena before they were married or did Samuel claim her as his own? Samuel was probably off fighting the Civil War when she was conceived and born so the question is who is her father? It very well may have been a marriage of convience for Samuel and Roena. Roena may have had a child out of wedlock and he was a wounded CW vetran missing a leg. If Roena is her mother, then Roena was only about 14-15 years old at the time. Could Roena have been impregnated by one of her stepfather's sons by his first marriage?
She died a few days after giving birth to her only child. The findagrave site for her son James has her name as Sally Bearden. This was based upon the death certificate information for son James. The marriage information clearly shows that Sarah maiden name was Brandon.
Since the Brandons appeared to have lived around Palmer and her husband was listed a barber in Palmer, she is probably buried around Palmer. I have not been able to find her grave.
