I have found a post listing Joan's parents as Geoffrey de la Mare and 1 of his 3 wives (it is unclear if it was wife 1 or 2) with back up data.

Other than the above posting, I have found no indications (FL Weis or D Richardson) as to which parents Joan actually has. The only other site with Geoffrey is below:

So all this is saying, I am not sure if Joan's parents are set in stone. It might be possible they are not Elias and Margery. Hope this helps in the future.
