Hi, Cynthia,
I have not been on the Geni site for some time. Perhaps you will be able to help with this Mary Hicks. My Mary Hicks is Mary Ann Hicks (maiden name unknown) who married Alexander Hicks. 1779 Alexander Hicks signed a petition to create Wilson County, Tennessee from Sumner County, Tennessee. Also signing the petition were Phillip Koonce, Christopher Koonce, George Koonce and a number of other Koonce men. 1786 Alexander Hicks is in Carteret County, NC. In 1788 there is a record of Alexander Hicks and Mary Ann Hicks selling a slave in Jones County, North Carolina to Phillip Koonce with the document witnessed by George Koonce and Philipenah Koonce. It is believed that George Koonce is Philip's father.
There is the wall of Mary Ann Hicks of Wilson County, Tennessee, 7 July 1802 in which the names her daughter Anne Koonce, wife of Philip Koonce and her daughter Martha, wife of Thomas Whitworth. Her will bequeaths and names four Negros to each daughter and husband.
The Mary Bailey Hicks married Clement Hicks and moved to Ohio in 1807. There are good records for her in the Quaker Hinshaw Encyclopedia.
Is it ok just to delete Clement Hicks and Mary Bailey from my tree or disconnect them?
Barbara Clark I am having trouble following what you are saying.
Can you tag the profiles for the people you mentioned?
Martha Ann Whitworth (Hicks) was disconnected from her parents Clement Hicks and Mary Hicks (Bailey) and sibling Asa Hicks by Ben M. Angel, still catching up.
