Hi
My grandpa worked for this this listing in census. Would I put him in Highway Labor??? It seems most this on roads.

1940 census says occupation Works Progress Administration (WPA) Road. 1950 census Says occupation Occupation Pipe Lining Industry Ditch Grader

Billie June Keaffaber ,

I couldn't find a highway labor project to add your grandpa to. The WPA ended in 1943, because the men were either needed for the war, or all of the other jobs that happened because of the war. Thanks for adding him to the WPA. A ditch grader is someone who uses heavy equipment, similar to a bulldozer, but with a V shaped blade, that cuts a trench to lay the pipe in. Pipes are often laid near roads, but not always, so I don't know that being a ditch grader (which is a great job) goes with highway labor.

Hope that helps.

Jessica,
I just found the stuff in census and it does help thank you very much. I think his WPA work might have went into the other work listed in 1950 census. So yea it helps nice to learn bit about the work he did he died before I was born and never meet him.
