Frances was Estella Hampton (Chambers) Great Aunt (not to be confused with her daughter, also named Estella). It appears a large number of relatives were living together during the depression.

Which makes Frances Elizabeth Bowman the aunt of Estella Hampton, no hints that I can see why the name enters the family in this generation.

If you mean "Hampton", she married Joe T Hampton sometime between 1940 and 1950 according to census records. Joe was 15 years younger than Estella. Estella's birth name was Chambers and her first husband was George Lee Chambers, apparently her third cousin (maybe second). I haven't researched this part of it enough to know for sure. Estella has been a challenge.

No, I mean there is no obvious explanation why both Frances and her brother Joseph named their daughters Estella.
