Create the Label...
GM # and add the number into the new field.
Do not put Grandma numbers into the Naming fields, as it messes up or forces other users to have to look at it in their tree view, and it causes a chaotic tree view.
For example.
Bad naming fields in tree view...
123456 John Friesen, Janet Friesen 123457, Johan 123457 Friesen, 123458 Julie Friesen 123458
It would appear better as an individual label in the profile. It would also allow other users to see John Friesen's and his sibling's names how the user set their preferences such as Friesen, John, JOHN FRIESEN, John FRIESEN, etc. It wouldn't be forced with a Grandma #. It also makes it easier to see and scroll without the distraction of numbers in the front, middle, or back of the name. Also, don't create "another language" to mask it. It causes inconsistencies and a messy tree in foreign languages as well.
John Friesen
Born 1/2/1934
Manitoba, Canada
Death 5/6/1978
Manitoba Canada
GM # 123456
Use the title field only for titles as is suggested by Geni, such as King, Rev, Sgt, Princess. Use the suffix field for Jr, Sr, III, or things like MD, PhD. If you're confused, run your mouse over the blue question marks next to each text field to see what it suggests.
There really is no need for adding numbers in the name fields. If the person didn't answer to a number, then it shouldn't be in their name. That's like adding a social security number in the name. Just because a person uses it in legal documents or filed under a number somewhere in a library or website, does not mean it needs to be in their name. It looks sloppy. If 5 of the same profile had to be merged, and all 5 had the numbers in their name, you will have a lot more work to do to clean it up. Just put the number somewhere else.
There is no need for profiles to look like
Sir 123 Johan John "Johnny" or "Hans" 123 Middle Name 123 123 Last Name Jr. 123 as it looks through the Mennonite tree.
