Ambrose Campbell, Jr was stolen from this family! He wasn't Ambrose Campbell Jr. he was Henry Campbell's son, someone didn't realize there were 2- different Ambrose Campbell's two different families.

1.No discussion was made before a person came in and took him away from his family, not realizing there were two different Ambrose Campbell's from the same area. They just assumed this Ambrose Campbell was their ancestor with no documented proof, yet our profiles had the proof the Ambrose Campbell belonged to this family!!!

2. Henry Campbell definitely had a son named Ambrose Campbell - he was listed on his probated Will!

3.I thought it was Geni.com Policy we don't come in without a discussion and sever or change parents! Had this person done this, they may have read the profile of father Henry Campbell and seen his son, Ambrose Campbell was listed on his Will! We should always check documentation.

4. We all need to realize many times there were a few relatives with the same names in the same areas, so we should think before taking a relative from a family!

Quite a bit of work was completed on this lineage and down a bit someone else severed parents, I assume by mistake, no comments were made why when probated Wills proved the lineage as well, with other documentation.

At this point don;t think I want that Ambrose Campbell back ---- too much damage was done to his profile after he was taken.

Trying to make a point!

This listing does not constitute proof of lineage. The databases contain DAR proprietary information which should under no circumstances be redistributed to others, assembled, reproduced, published, or posted in any form whatsoever with the exception of the following: (i) DAR membership and supplemental applications; (ii) citation in genealogical scholarship; and (iii) citing a DAR patriot name and number in publications and on third party websites.
The primary purpose for the creation of the Ancestor Database is to assist staff with the verification of membership applications and supplementals. As such, the DAR assigns a single standard surname that covers variant spellings of similar surnames. While the surname may appear incorrect, this does not mean it is in error. This spelling system ensures that patriots are not established under more than one spelling.
