The portrait image currently attached to this profile is actually a portrait of William Stoughton, NOT John Hathorne; although someone uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons from Geni using the John Hathorne's name as the filename in order to legitimize the false information. The image is described in detail in the Harvard Magazine (that's Harvard in the image background). See: https://www.harvardmagazine.com/2015/03/early-bmocs

Thank you, fixed.

Judge William Stoughton

WOW I've never had this reaction before. One I got upset that someone tried to take cousin away from me. We're all supposed to work together. Stoughton's are my favorite linage on my material side of family. And I feel I take so much from your amazing work Erica Houghton. I'm still a novice of what to do with all my knowledge.Erica, I know we're related but al\ways forget how. I don't think blood but family. SO back to Stoughton family. My cousin, Lori, is much more organized than member, but I haven't met her yet. I did download a bunch of pictures and sent them to everyone. I'm the only immediate family member that does this. In there was a picture of this William Stoughton & about his life. I recently joined a Facebook group Sussanah North Martin (Hung as a witch at Salem 1692. I mentioned William Stoughton signed the death warrant. i got il from My Heritage site) I know this might not have been the place for all this, but I've never posted before. Sorry for that, Gail Bertsch Chism

No worries and it wasn’t you who got the images mixed up. :)

Thanks for addressing this issue so quickly.
