John Garrett, IV - Connections

No, I'm not even working on this particular John. There are just so many of them and I was trying to make sure I get mine connected correctly and I saw that this John and a brother named John are connected to the same parents but this one isn't on the genealogy site I was using to work on my direct branch. I only mentioned his wife because that's the only way I've been able to try to keep the various John Garretts straight, but the site I'm using doesn't have one with a wife named Frances Scott. So I just mentioned that as an observation.

I know sometimes folks back then did name sons the same name in case one died, but I've found info on John V who married Frances Dudley. And I have a nagging question forming because I saw on Wiki that Frances Scott's mother was a Dudley by birth. I'm wondering if there weren't two brothers name John and one married Frances Dudley and the other Frances Scott but if they're maybe the same John and the fact that Frances' mother was a Dudley got confused as the maiden name for Frances (Dudley) Garrett. But I may just be over-thinking it, because this site lists her father as Robert Dudley, indicating she wasn't born a Scott.

Otheriwse, it 'seems' John Garrett and Frances Buckner had two sons named John IV and John V. ?

I have a LOT of Garrett DNA matches on Ancestry and a good many of them have trees, so over the next few days I plan to look through them to see how they have their Garrett lines connected, in hopes of finding additional documentation and info.
