Andrew Carnahan stated that he lived in Guilford County, North Carolina when he entered the service. He guessed that he remained in North Carolina a year or two after the service and then he said he moved to what became Davidson County, Tennessee. He said he resided there about eight years and then moved to Logan County, Kentucky and lived there for about ten years. He said he then moved back to Tennessee and settled in Rutherford County. Andrew Carnahan may have originally moved to Davidson County, Tennessee because he received a 640-acre military land grant in Davidson County dated December 8, 1787. He received it from Daniel Mckinley in North Carolina. Andrew Carnahan was listed as Daniel Mckinley’s heir in the grant. Andrew was an heir because his mother was Mary Findy Mckinley, the daughter of Daniel Mckinley. Andrew is listed on the tax list in Davidson County, Tennessee in 1787.
