According to the 1851 English Census, Soloman (born Little Wenlock) and Sophie (born Bilston) were living in Great Dawley and had four children, Joseph, aged 12, Benjamin aged 9, Matilda aged 5 or 8, and William aged 4. All four kids were born at Little Wenlock. This family can be traced through the 1861 and 1871 census (Soloman was aged 65 in 1871).
In the same 1851 census a Darrall family were living in Dawley which included a William noted as a 'grandson'. This William was raised after the death of his father prior to 1851 (I have the death cert). If you look at the later censii you can trace 'our' William and family for more than 30 years.Soloman is not noted as a member of this family, nor is Sophie.
Therefore Soloman could not have been the father of 'our' William as Soloman was still alive in 1871 according to the census. FYI, a Sophie died in 1875 aged 72 years,
