I'm surprised that we haven't worked on the profile for the explorer Adriaen Block -- the man who first used the name "New Netherland"! :)
I just added him to some projects, but he needs his family added; there's some info on Wikipedia. I am reluctant to add a bio or MP him myself since I suspect we might want the content to be in Dutch and English.
I live close to where he landed when he "discovered" Hartford, Connecticut, and we have many places named after him here. Hartford might be the place where he's remembered the most -- even Block Island in Rhode Island doesn't seem to remember their namesake! Poor Adriaen, long forgotten...
