Hello there, my name is Aaron Gilmore (my genetic surname is Brunt) I am a direct paternal line descendent of a William Brount b 1571 in England. My Haplogroup is G-By177609. Also my only yDNA match is to a Richard Blount (b1934 passed 2012) our MRCA is 400-500 years ago. He and I are we believe both descended from the same Blount man from 1500 England called Walter Blount and in turn from the Blount's of Guisnes, our haplo was not in England pre 1066 and we still have a branch today in Belgium. Which if one is to believe the family tree came from Sigfried and then he too would have this same male line. Hence I have been researching this man with some interest. I am especially interested in the discussion that he was of Germanic parentage and not of some Danish King. Given our Haplogroup there is evidence of it being found in Germanic and Alemani warriors from the period around 600 AD as well in some modern Austrian-Hungarians. This would be consistent with one of the claimed parentages listed on this site.

Greetings
I see you are my 17th cousin twice removed.
:)

Wow! Gretchen that is something. Which line do we both come from?
