Welcome to anyone who is viewing this page.

Over the past year, I reached a brick wall on the Sachs family tree where I can't go further back than 3 generations. I can't seem to get any records of the ancestors who died in Europe in the 1800s. Since I can't move "up" at the moment, I have decided to move "down" and fill out the tree as much as I can for all the succeeding generations, which I am finding to be just as gratifying. I have traveled around New York locating graves of deceased family members and uploading them to member's profiles. I have also started to ask for information from other family members so that I can add their spouses' families to the tree as well.

There are several collaborating trees from those associated with the Sachs/Luery lines which I have merged with, and I am still waiting on some of the owners to allow edits to be made on duplicate entries which seems to be taking a while but I'll remember to follow up one day.

I also built the Sant'Ana family tree completely from scratch. No one has ever compiled a family tree for this side of the family, and thankfully, Family Search has an incredible amount of Brazilian records which made this possible. I also seem to be hitting a brick wall at 3 generations up on this side of the family. The difference for this side of the family is that I'm not sure if the parents of this 3rd generation were born in the same country they raised their children in. I know at some point, the family was in Portugal, Holland, Italy, etc. But no one knows when that occured so I have no clues to try and locate the earlier generations.

GOALS FOR NEXT YEAR:

I plan to continue to locate graves of ancestors on the Sachs and Luery line. I know of several places in New Jersey and Philadelphia which I have yet to visit. I also would like to obtain Hebrew names for as many people as I can. For the Sant'Ana and Barbosa side, I want to visit a Family Search center to view documents that I'm not able to see online but have saved. I hope they can provide me with some clues I can't access at this time. I also plan to collaborate more with living family members to collect as much information as I can while everyone is still around.

Also, I plan to collaborate with my brother-in-law, who I'm pretty sure is the one running the Loeb family tree already on Geni. That way, I can just merge into his tree and collect all the information for my husband's side instantly. This seems like the easiest task I have on here.
