I have removed the surname Gordon from this profile as I have not seen any mention of this surname in various source. I believe the name is a mistake which has yet to be corrected. If I am wrong about this please provide source evidence to the contrary.

Private User have you seen the profile of Israel Moses Joseph Ashkenazi his father and grandfather? They need working on but at one stage they were connected to this family. I believe the Gordon surname is a misreading of the Norden surname, or vice versa. N and G are similar in Hebrew script - נ and ג.

Yes, this node needs work. If you have access to Jacobi Papers, please see Vol. 1, p. 254, 12.1 and 13.1. There, Jacobi asserts that the father of R' Asher Zelig Eibeshitz of Krakow (nb: Jacobi uses the name Zelig, but also uses Shlomo rather than Asher: i.e. Shlomo Zelig rather than Asher Zelig) is a Moshe. Further, Jacobi says about Shlomo Zelig's spouse (Jacobi: Vol 1, p. 254, 12.1m): (I am paraphrasing) she is daughter of R' Nathan VII b Ruben Spira (S5) 13.4 who became Ashkenazic ABD Jerusalem and Schaliah of Jerusalem, while recognizing that most genealogists say she is daughter of Megliat Amikot. I believe R' Abraham Joel Ashkenazi should be disconnected from R' Asher Zelig Eibeshitz of Krakow and that the latter's spouse is not wife, Asher Zelig Yeshaya Eibeshitz but rather an unnamed daughter of Rabbi Nathan Shapira, The Megaleh Amukos (unless Jacobi's alternative is demontrably shown to be correct), a daughter who is not currently profiled on GENI and would require a new profile.

FYI: Otser HaRabanim # 16412 asserts that Rabbi Nathan Nata Eibeshitz of Ivancic, ABD Eibenschutz, Moravia was the grandson of Rabbi Nathan Shapira, The Megaleh Amukos but does not give the name of his father. Meanwhile, in # 16369 Otser does not specifically mention a daughter of Megale Amukot who is the mother of the above R' Nathan Eibenschutz but this is implied by # 16412. Finally, # 16369 states that Rabbi Yeshaya Naftali Hildesheim-Hertz, (of Hildesheim) is the son in law Megale Amukot and then # 11687 states that R' Yeshaya Hildesheim has a daughter who married Nathan Nota of Krakov (# 16400) b. Menachem Man (# 13268), so Otser does not assert that R' Yeshaya's daughter married R' Asher Zelig Eibeshitz as currently shown on GENI: wife, Asher Zelig Yeshaya Eibeshitz
