Benito Tan Unchuan, 1874-1922, co-founder of the Asociacion Benevola de Cebu, the Cebu Chinese High School (now the Cebu Eastern College or Tong Hong), and the Cebu Chinese Cemetery (established in 1909). His granite tomb still stands today inside an octagonal (or ba-gua)-shaped mausoleum right at the center of the cemetery, with four roads diverging from it, following the four cardinal directions. This is where the oldest section of the cemetery, now gone to seed and needing much care, is to be found today.
