Information that I have seen in Smart Matches references my family tree in New England. My immediate family was not in New England. They arrived at Annapolis, Maryland, settled in Essex County, Virginia, moved to Abbeville, South Carolina. My direct descendent then moved to Alabama and then family moved to Mississippi. My father was raised in Toccopola, Mississippi. He joined the USMC in 1937 and served until 1957. Met my mother in Arlington, Virginia where they were married in 1950.
Descendants from Alabama and Mississippi my father found their graves and tombstones which his information I have entered is correct. My records indicate that before they arrived in Annapolis, they came from England where records found were of a baptism in 1510 at St. Andrews Holburn, London, UK.
Other descendants from Scotland were the Wardlaw's, McDaniel (Clan Donald) and Alvis. My direct lineage is not from New England.
