Joanne Pezzullo - am I interpreting Valentine Van Zee’s study correctly by presuming there were siblings, as follow:

Extracted from https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~valvz/genealogy/gibson_of_pee_dee.html
GIBSON FAMILY OF PEE DEE, (CRAVEN → LIBERTY → MARION CO.) SC

  • A. (Not identified)
    • A-1. Gideon Gibson, Senior (c1695/8-betw 1752-57) Gideon Gibson, of the Pee Dee River m. Mary Browne
      • A-11. Gideon Gibson (c1722-1781), “the Regulator”
    • A-2. A-2. Jordan Gibson (c1708-1788TN) Jordan Gibson, of Sumner County m. Hannah
    • A-3. Hannah (Gibson) Sa(u)nders Murfee (c1711-1769/73) m. She first married George Saunders/Sanders and second Malachi Murfee/Murphy.

But I don’t see Gibeon who went to Mississippi, and the children listed under A-11 were (mostly) actually Gibeons?

Was George Gibson another brother?

Shepard Gibson, born about 1765, was the son of Andrew Gibson. Believed to be the son of George and Mary Gibson of Louisa County, VA and Orange County, North Carolina. This George was a brother to Gedion and Jordan, sons of Gilbert Gibson. (Louisa County, VA Wills and Deeds). By 1790 Andrew Gibson was listed as part of a Company (militia?) in Wilkes County, NC.[http://melungeonstudies.blogspot.com/2008/09/buck-gibson.html]

There are no records, not even circumstantial, who Shephard Buck Gibson's parents were. Everything is speculation. My "guess" is Charles Gibson is the father of SHEPHARD Gibson as Charles was in the Revolution and served under James SHEPHARD.

Another 'myth' George, wife Mary, died in Orange Co., NC 1775 IS NOT brother of Gideon and Jordan, sons of Gilbert.

George Gibson, son of Gilbert married Susannah and lived and died in Louisa County, he was involved with court records with his step-mother Sarah Turner Gibson.

Gilbert of Louisa is son of Gibby Gibson died 1727 in Charles City County, Gilbert had sons Edward, Gilbert and George. Edward died young left two daughters.

George, son of Gibby, is likely the ancestor of the Orange Co NC lines, the George and Thomas of record in Louisa went to Orange Co., NC. George, son of GIBBY, we know from records had sons George Jr., and Randall Gibson.
