and the only person who comes up with that name and dates, when searching general internet, has a different wife.

i found the guy over at wikitree.
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/King-47701

and here is a Geni profile with the same name who married Edulia Gregory. Robert "Leal" King

i added the father and a brother -- and then a bunch of duplicates nearby showed up. I don't think the line is very well sourced other than names - I added the trees at Wikitree and FamilySearch, which if you follow back, the lineage doesn't make sense in terms of people's ages. The closest Geni goes right now is 13th cousins.

Capt. William King, Sr. (I) is Robert "Leal" King's 13th cousin once removed.
Robert "Leal" King → Elizabeth (Hill) King (his mother) → Mildred (Clopton) Hill (her mother) → William Clopton, III (her father) → William Clopton, Jr. (his father) → William Clopton, Gent., of St. Peter’s Parish (his father) → Rev. William Clopton (his father) → Walter Clopton, I (his father) → Margery (Waldegrave) Clopton (his mother) → Edward Waldegrave, of Borley, in Essex (her father) → Sir George Waldegrave, Kt. (his father) → Dame Margery Wentworth (his mother) → Elizabeth (Howard) Wentworth (her mother) → Margaret (Hussey) Howard (her mother) → Sir Henry Hussey, Kt. (her father) → Margaret de Verdun (his mother) → Sir Thomas Crophull, Kt. (her son) → Agnes (Crophull) Merbury (his daughter) → Sir Walter Devereux, Kt. (her son) → Sir Walter Devereux (his son) → Walter Devereux, 7th Baron Ferrers of Chartley, K.G. (his son) → Elizabeth (Devereux) Corbet (his daughter) → Sir Robert Corbet, of Moreton Corbet (her son) → Dorothy (Corbet) Mainwaring (his daughter) → Sir Arthur Mainwaring, Kt., MP (her son) → Blanche (Mainwaring) King (his daughter) → Capt. John King (her son) → Capt. Francis King (his son) → Robert King (his son) → Capt. William King, Sr. (I) (his son)

Hi Dean,
Thank you for the information.

Are you able to access family search website. Robert King ID: GHS8-9G8
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/GZTM-RV7

"Leal" is new to me. I have not seen that as part of his name.

For the find a grave listing, I do not think it is the same Robert King.

I agree with your assessment about the lineage doesn't make sense in terms of people's ages.
The brick wall I ran into is that the records were burned around this time frame.

There are so many tree mixed and match to the incorrect people it too difficult for me to figure out.

Example: There is a Robert Johnston King and my Robert King that are mixed together but I believe they are two different individuals.

Books that I think are related to my family:
"The Lees and Kings of Virginia and North Carolina"
https://archive.org/details/leeskingsofvirgi00wils/mode/1up

"Old King William Home and Families"

Dean,

I haven't been able to find Robert King grave.

The father that keeps coming up for Robert King is:
Alexander Carver King
1775–1820
BIRTH 1775 • Saint Johns Parish, King William, Virginia, USA
DEATH 1820 • Dunluce, King William, Virginia, USA

But there is no proof this is Robert’s father.

Here is Alexander Carver King profile on Family Search:
