THE QUESTIONS: Have you ever felt insecure in the ‘journey of your life’? Have you ever wanted to be at peace inspite of all circumstances? Have you been looking for a solution to your problems? Have you felt that life is meaningless and that you have come to the end of the road? Are you uncertain of your future, especially about Life after death? Have you ever wanted to know God more intimately? If you are endowed with many such questions, then you are fortunate to get this, and you must read on…!!
THE FACT: Life on earth is short and temporary! We have limitations and all that we have is not going to last long! Irrespective of our religious background, social, economic or educational status, as human beings we have many things in common. Further, with or without warning when death finally comes, our plans, ambitions, physique, beauty, status or relationships, job and access to Bank Accounts will all come to an abrupt end. In fact, when one’s journey of life ends, the journey of his or her soul keeps going beyond, unable to communicate anything to anyone in this world!
THE CHOICE: We all know that there is only one Almighty God, the one who allows the sun to shine and the rain to shower on one and all. He really does not want us to lead a shallow superficial life! Having created us He indeed cares for us, more as a loving Father. It is this loving nature in Him that prompts Him to share His eternal truths with us before it is too late! The Truth is that He is gracious and willing enough to be part of our life’s journey here and even beyond! The Scriptural truth for us in this world is nothing but accepting His free offer of love! Believe it or not, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have EVERLASTING LIFE!” (John 3:16, Holy Bible). On the basis of our accepting or rejecting this offer of His Divine love, the journey of our life here and beyond depends! The Bible says, “What does it profit a person if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?”
THE PROBLEM: First, in this sinful world, people of all status or age, religion or caste, face problems of all kinds like sickness, separation, insecurity, natural calamities, fear, loneliness, needs, spiritual blindness, depression, dissatisfaction, temptation, death, etc,. Secondly, the predominant entertainments, rituals or religion, friends or relatives, greediness or contentment, righteousness or sin, pride or humility, perversions, the temporary allurements or pleasures and addiction to bad habits, self-centeredness or sacrificial living, can all provide only some temporary satisfaction from our deep rooted guilt feelings; but not the true peace or meaning to life! Thirdly, these things that stimulate our inward impulses or senses are often propelled by the deception of evil forces, that we may overlook our sin-consciousness and pass this temporary world without turning to God or accepting His plan of Salvation! Further, Suicidal thoughts are just another deception or provocation caused by the evil forces to make us flee into Hell fire while in the process of trying to escape from the passing problems of this life!
THE SOLUTION: The Solution to all questions or problem lies in our coming to terms or reconciling of ourselves with the God who created us! True success or joy or peace or freedom and meaning to life come from Him alone! But, how can one really come to God unless God Himself makes a way? The Bible testifies that God has made this provision for us by sending Christ Jesus as a mediator. He is the means through which we can have liberty from the consequences of Sin, or the devil and Hell! It is on the basis of the coming of Christ Jesus that the Calendar or History is divided between BC and AD. Further, He as the Son of God, reflects the true attributes of God and as such is the means by which we can understand and know God in all true sense! Through Him one can endure or enjoy life as it comes; and finally have an access to be with God in Heaven. To make us acceptable or justified before God, Jesus had to offer Himself as a sacrifice. As our substitute, He took the punishment for our sin or sinful nature and rose again from the dead to be a living Savior. Accepting this fact in faith, we become the children of God or as the Bible says-
(1) We are born spiritually into the family of God.
(2) Our names are entered in the Book of Life.
(3) We are translated from the Kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light.
(4) We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of God, as a guarantee for eternal life!
(5) We are transformed newly in our attitude towards life so that a desire to do good and be good & loving would become quite natural!
Having come to know this Good news about Jesus, you now have an opportunity to start relating with God! May be this simple prayer can help you to start with, “Dear loving God, I thank you for helping me to understand the truths of life here and beyond. Please forgive all my sins and accept me as your child. I accept Jesus as the Lord of my life. Please help me to live the rest of my life on this earth, as you would want me! I make this prayer in Jesus’ name”. Amen! (So shall it be!)
THE NEW LIFE: Whoever we may be, it is from this point of acceptance that God starts to undertake for us as a loving and gracious Father. He starts to hear the prayers we make in the name of Jesus. We start to grow in our relationship with Him! He is there to heal our weak body or mind or relationships; help us out of all problems; make us victorious over all evil or witchcraft or curse or addictions or lust or suicidal thoughts; and systematically transform us to become good & loving citizens that the peace of God can rule our lives. Our journey with Jesus may be through a narrow path of life, while all others may pass through a broad way which in natural terms would be more appealing or inviting. However, sooner or later, the one who has chosen Jesus will surely enjoy everlasting peace & rest for his or her soul, dwelling right in the presence of God, the final destination!
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one can come to God, the Father without me!” It is indeed not a journey from one religion to another, but a joyful journey with God Himself from this passing world to His glorious presence! May God bless & guide you through His Holy Spirit!
