Golden City, Mo., Nov. 16 - Andrew Jackson Werts, 87 years old, died at 12:25 o'clock this morning in his home. Death was attributed to pneumonia.
Born September 19, 1868, in Roanoke County Virginia he moved to Greene County, Missouri when he was two years old with his parents. In 1881, he came to Beacon county and settle at the farm where he died. He married Ida Shrout June 10, 1896 in Independence, Mo., and she died March 17, 1936. He was a member of the Kenoma Christian church.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Mabel Wirts who teaches in the Lamar schools; two sons, Walter Wirts of Lamar and Wallace Wirts of Kenoma; a brother Calvin L. Wirts of Lamar, formerly of Joplin and a sister, Mrs. Jennie B. Hazlitt of Mohall, N.D.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Konantz Funeral home chapel at Lamar and burial will be in Lake Cemetery.
