Here's a story of romance and lost love. After his tour fighting in the Korean War was over, RichardvDeLaria matriculated in the University of Japan in Tokyo. While there, apparently, he met and fell in love with Mitsuru. They became engaged, but her parents wouldn't allow the marriage, so the show was off. Richard loved her until the day he died, according to his daughter.
