Hans David (Gerlach) Carlock - More research needed

Susan Carlock writes

Hans David Carlock (Gerlach) b. 1674 in Palatinate, Saxony. Died 1763 Augusta, VA.ARRIVED IN AMERICA in 1725 with his 5 children. Wife died en route. Caroline was born in 1717 in Holland and Catherine was born in 1725 in Holland or en route to America. That corrects their ages.
But - the 1790 census lists his son Frederick with a wife and 1 song and the Simmendinger Register, a list of early 18th century Palatinate immigrants, lists him with wife Anna Maria Margarette and 3 children landing in NY 1709. That makes the 1725 date invalid.

Anyone care to research more?

I started working on the tree and it's a mess. Bear with me. and Susan was correct. More marriages, additional first names, etc., Hans David actually had another first/middle name, and then it didn't help that some had 13 kids and those weren't entered. It'll be done eventually, no hurry, checking records, some have no records or sources available. I'll do my best, Erica.

Hi. Here's what I know:
David (Gerlach) Carlock, 1674-1763. His father was Han Christ Gerlach and mother Anna Maria Kummer. Han and Anna Maria had 3 known children:

Conrad b.1660-1709) emigrated via Holland/London/New York 1712 and settled in New Jersey.
Han Christ (Johann Christoper/John Christian) 4/3/1672 - 1764, settled in New York
David, the youngest arrived in PA 1725 settled in Brock's Gap, Va ca 1732

David's children:

1. Han Christ (John Christian) 1715-? married Susan Witmer.
2. Caroline 1717-1782 married Adam Starnes or Stearns (Frederick Starnes lived with them.
3. Frederick Cornelious b. 1720-1792. Wife: Isabel
4. Conrad 1723-ca 1811. Wife: Mary Starnes, sister of caroline's husband. No children
5. Catherine. 6/22/1726-5/18/1779.
then in researching Catherine, got sucked into a rabbit hole. There are several Catherine Carlocks. One is daughter of David who married Matthew Whitman, and one is daughter of Theobald. who is nephew of David, son of Johann Christian. She married John Henry Whitman. Whether this is correct or not, I'm unsure because both Catherine's have Mary Elizabeth Whitman 1747-1822 and Barbara Whitman 1754-1790 on their lists. I'll have to just let it be.

On My Heritage site, there are many Catherine Carlocks ….

I have not done any research on my Gerlach/Carlock families. I've printed all the information
that you listed. Thanks so much for this information. My daughter found a small amount of
info when all of my grandparents were entered on ancestry.
